Someone on Youtube stole my partner's short film and reposted it with shit filters, claiming it as an AI film, then did a copywright strike on my partner, taking HIS hard-earned work down. Completely effortless.
YouTube doesn't care about artists, and it never will.
Fuck AI, and Fuck Youtube.

Fatphobia is so popular and normalized that you don't even need to watch fatphobic shit for YouTube to recommend it to you.
Making fatphobic shit is also so lucrative that you can get 500,000 views on a less than two minute video made by AI, meaning that you didn't even have to do the work yourself. All you have to do to get half a million views is put a picture of a fat person as the thumbnail and make the most unoriginal garbage pile of a pun that you can think of to slap on the video as a title.
And you want to know why?
You want to know why everyone and their mother loves to freely harass fat people? You want to know why this makes half a million views on a video that doesn't even meet the two minute mark?
It's because fat people are one of the only oppressed groups left who you can abuse and oppress with zero backlash. We aren't protected by anti-discrimination laws. There's a single organization that gives a damn about our oppression, and it's not even a powerful or well-known organization to people outside of the very small community of fat liberationists. You won't even be shamed on social media beyond a tiny percentage of accounts like this blog. I can't begin to describe how many fatphobic bigots I have dealt with over the years who were people who claimed to be "progressive" and said they supported equality. So many fatphobes I have dealt with had pride flag icons and argued to me that fat people aren't oppressed because "[insert whatever other group here the fatphobe was using this time] has it worse!" Fat people have even been thrown out of the body positivity movement that WE. STARTED.
So if I can't even rely on "progressive" people who give a shit about everyone else to give a shit about me? People who claim to care about equality and all of my other oppressed identities but treat me like the dirt underneath their feet as soon I'm not "fuckable" to them? You can see pretty fucking clearly how this world has a strangling hold on fat people and refuses to let go of their last punching bag that has zero consequences for pummeling into the ground.
The world knows that you will endure consequences (legal, financial, and/or social) for being bigoted against any oppressed group with a mainstream activism movement, so that's why conservatives and progressives alike wipe their brow in relief that there's at least one group they know is okay to harm as much as they want without having to worry of backlash.
And for the people who never developed their reading comprehension skills, no where did I say that other oppressed groups don't have it bad. No where did I say that other oppressed groups aren't still harmed today. Stop it with your bad faith takes and attempts to make this another "piss on the poor."
There's a major difference between what I endure as a fat person and what I endure for my plethora of other oppressed identities. If you discriminate against me for being gay, there's anti-discrimination laws and policies. There's financial losses to your business by the people who will boycott you. There's loss of reputation. There's loss of relationships, social status, and trust. People have even lost their jobs for being homophobic. It's not perfect, but it's far from lacking consequences.
But when I'm discriminated against for being fat? All those people who supposedly cared about me for being gay are not only silent when I'm discriminated against for my fatness, they often actively support the fatphobia I faced.
That is the fucking difference.

Taking a Propaganda
Propaganda is definitely a thing. It's been covered before, probably more throughly, that the Auradon sponsored Posters and Television channels on the Isle are, kinda wack. Like, that's a section of the budget that's being used judiciously when the main source of food is canonically garbage.
Consider also, the way that Mal, is framed in news footage in Descendants 2. (Rags to riches success story. Aspirational, A triumph of Auradon, look at her now. She's an example. etc.)
VK day in D3 being a holiday. The fact that the applications are Collected the same day as the children are Selected.
That's not what we're here for though. I'm taking you on a journey.
Ok, so School of Secrets, the promotional youtube shorts, not the book series, is I think, technically canon. It's canon the same way a guest passed out in the laundry room at a house party is still attending. They're a minute long and they fascinate me.
Tumblr media
This is a screenshot from Episode 9. Where PC culture cancels the school play, (Weird series) which was Supposed to be an adaptation of What's that Spell? a stage dramatization of Maleficent's attack on Aurora's kingdom. Other provided options are 12 Angry Dalmatians, Book of Sultan, and 7 Brides for 7 Dwarfs before they settle on My Fair Lady and the Tramp. May I just say before I get going, fun puns. I would watch the hell out of Tramp's Pygmalion arc.
This begs an interesting question though. Because this isn't, in the world of the series, fiction. Not only are all the plays about a terrible thing that happened, they are about terrible things that happened within living memory to specifically the parents of these kids' peers. Things that caused so much damage that a Generational Prison Island was considered a proportional response and it's an incredibly unpopular policy decision to want to change that. Now, imagine for a moment, being a parent, and going to see your darling pumpkin be an extra in the school play, and then its about how your best friend's stepmother tried to get her killed when she was 14, and also you're a character. Your kid didn't get the role.
They do this twice a year.
Twice a year, the AKs go on stage to replay their parents' story and celebrate the overthrow of a villain. This is some 9/11 Never Forget shit.

Been wanting to brain myself with a hamer over some completely nothingburger vague nebulous internet drama, as ya do, so I’m starting to become really radical about the grasspill lately.
I couldn’t force myself to just stay off of social media entirely even though I knew I was in a place mentally that warranted a break, so I promised myself and my friends that the next time I saw anything in my feeds that annoyed the shit out of me, I’d get dressed, walk straight outside and pick up that trash by the treeline that I’d occasionally been complaining about seeing outside my window for the last few days. Didn’t matter what website it came from, the rules were set.
What do you know it didn’t even take 12 hours before I hit another “anime forehead vein bulge” moment over some YouTube comment shit and instead of wasting my keyboard warrior breath I got shoes on, put a podcast into my headphones, and literally just picked up litter out of the stormwater section of my neighborhood until staying that angry finally started to seem ridiculous. I got two garbage bags full of styrofoam, plastic, etc out of the woods and I’m actually feeling pretty damn good about it and surprisingly, not regretful of focusing my limited time and energy on something other than doomscrolling or bickering with strangers on the interwebs about esoteric niche ass discourse. I even found four more cicada husks for my collection (super cool)
I’m so not regretful of that that it’s probably going to become a running policy of mine now that the weather’s getting better here. Dumb bullshit pisses me off too much, I’m grabbing my net and I’m gonna go look for critters and scavenger hunt down more styrofoam packing peanuts I might have missed by the creek. Hell, maybe I’ll bring the dog too if I feel like it. Ending point is only the reminder for a LOT of you on the interwebs to consider just, anything spontaneous and outside of the box that seems literally designed to keep you chained here by your anger instead of your joy. In any game where once you start to introspect, you find out that you are more the ball for algorithms and trolls to score points with than you are a player, sometimes the healthiest option is to play something else for a change. Come back when it does something for you, on your own terms, by your own choice. Chase health over harm. Feed passion over despair.

Ignore Candace Owens, Nina Turner, Tim Scott, The Shade Room, & The Breakfast Club
That’s right. Ignore them. Shun them. Turn them off. Don’t follow them online, don’t donate to them, and don’t promote their ventures.
There are differing degrees of self-hate and with these clowns, there are also differing degrees of anti-Blackness.
Each of the aforementioned personalities hate Black people and actively work to harm Black Americans.
Some may not know how anti-Blackness works, and still others may not understand how Black people can be anti-Black, and so let me help those folk understand.
It is easy to understand if politics are used because there are defining lines and definitive actions that clearly represent anti-Blackness.
That is not to say that only republicans can be racist because that idea is absurd in all the ways.
Republican policies are surgically designed to harm Black people as a whole and they target Black individuals such as trans, gay, children, women and girls.
Working at the Black community level we see republicans all over the nation pass laws eliminating teaching Black history, making it harder for Black folk to vote, suspending Black elected officials to utilize their First Amendment rights, enact harsher sentences for crime for us, refuse to expand Obamacare/medicare, and they refuse to dispense funds designated for our communities and instead redirect them to pet republican projects.
Those policies and many others are specifically designed to harm Black people — and those actions are supported by Candace Owens, Charlemagne, Nina Turner and others, and used as comedy fodder by The Shade Room and The Breakfast Club.
They present themselves as the either progressive, Turner, or staunch republican, Owens, but both use their platforms to harm Black people. Oh, they each loudly proclaim they are working to improve Black lives but they aren’t doing any such thing and they know it.
Turner habitually runs for office despite being resoundingly rejected time after time by voters -all voters but especially Black voters who want nothing to do with her foolishness. Seeing her buck-dancing during one of her campaign events and hearing her say that “Voting for Biden is like eating a bowl of shit” are defining moments in a career short on accomplishments and long on grievances. Given that she has long hitched her success to two-time losing presidential candidate Bernie Sanders just further proves she works hard to alienate Black voters and Black people with her contrarian positions.
Candace Owens is an online figure who decided that the best way for her to make money was to establish a foothold in republican media and use her time to bash anything and everything having to do with Black people and blackness. This is after she used the NAACP to help with a discrimination lawsuit years ago. Funny how that works.

The Shade Room is an online gossip website that traffics in salacious half-truths, innuendo, and clickbait tabloid headlines. The site is a cesspool that seek to provide an entertaining and street-level approach to delivering dirty and salacious news about celebrities, athletes, and politicians. Most of their targets are Black and POC who dred seeing their name and photos are the latest target of the gossip website and trending across social media.
Is The Shade Room Too Toxic To Function?
When YouTuber Jeffree Star posted a cryptic photo of himself wrapped in the arms of an unknown man back in August, the…
www.buzzfeednews.com
The garbage they push, like The Breakfast Club, is slanted to harm the targets but disguise it with “humor” and “shit-talking”, so that the ugliness is an aftertaste that sticks with the reader/listener long after the ingest the their crap. They are the mean comedians who proclaim they are “Just joking” and who when faced with criticism like to blame the audience for either not getting the joke or being too sensitive.
Their act was tired five years ago and it is long past it’s end date now. The site has been called out by Black celebrities for years.
Tim Scott is the elected version of Herschel Walker. A tiny man with little to offer other than his votes for republican legislation and a soft head for republicans to pat when he does their bidding. Scott is mostly a nobody to the country at-large but inexplicably he tossed his hat into the 2024 presidential election by announcing he plans to run for president against Joe Biden. Tim is another puppet of the party who will do anything except support policies that appeal to Black voters.
Tim is the elected version of folk like Herschel Walker, Larry Elder, Luther Campbell, Killer Mike, Kanye, Stephen A. Smith, those Black clergy who prostrated themselves to Trump, and any Black person who works for Fox News or the New York Post.
They have little to no real power but that doesn’t stop them from pushing anti-Blackness for a little coin, views, and advertisers, because in America there is always a market for anti-Blackness.
The grifters have found their personal sweet spot that sees them disparage Black people and politicians with regularity and with the language and words that is AAVE — African American Vernacular English — that catches the attention of Black people. They weaponize our language to use it against us as they push republican and russian negative talk points about Black politicians, democrats, and Black celebrities and athletes.
And foreign players use their template to attack us and suppress our votes, as we saw in 2016 and 2020 on Facebook where the vast majority of political attack, voter suppression, and disinformation ads were directed to Black people.
It is vile and disgusting but it is paying their bills and helping their owners I guess. But what is worse is that the grifters words and videos are used by republicans as digital “Gotcha” attacks on Black people in walks of life.
We’ve all gotten Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram messages from republican friends, coworkers, or family sharing something anti-Black and/or Anti-Democratic from one of the buffoons mentioned in this article. It is infuriating, offensive, and something we all wish would not happen because we are tired of answering for such clownery.
It is especially egregious when our white friends and family ask us to comment on such tripe because we want them to instantly recognize that stuff for what it is and not depend on us to translate, explain, or be a sounding board for them to express how those folk are harming Black folk.
We know. We been knew. And we don’t want to explain it over and over again to our white friends. We’d rather you use that energy toward your white friends and family who statistically fall into ~80% of white men and 53% of white women who have consistently voted republican since 1965 and are the actual cause of every problem in the nation.
They have real power, while those mentioned in this article have limited influence and almost no power, no matter how loud they are and no matter how often right-wing media and personalities promote them as the “Real voices of the Black community.”
What they can do though is aid voter suppression and gerrymandering enough to peel away just enough Black voters which helps republicans maintain control in a mayoral, school board, or district election. And when that happens each of the provocateurs will then say that the democrats lost because they didn’t woo them, didn’t work for their vote, and aren’t interested in policies that helps Black people.
Rinse, repeat.
None of them are serious about politics beyond establishing a foothold in rightwing circles where the money flows to anyone and anybody who will consistently deliver anti-Black content.
The Black community have been identifying and naming folk like them since the 1600’s. There are terms we use in our community and any Black person reading this will know what I am talking about so there’s no need for me to list them here.
With the 2024 elections right around the corner we will begin to see and hear from this group of loud mouths with increasing frequency. They’ll call out President Joe Biden for being old, for advocating for the 1994 crime bill that our parents and grandparents also advocated for, and for supporting the Ukrainian government while supposedly not supporting the Black community.
They will push the false narrative about Vice President Kamala Harris of “Being invisible” while they pretend they don’t know what she does or how she contributes to the administration as they work for the betterment of the Black community and Black girls and women.
They will use any current crime in the Black community and blame the administration for lack of care and concern for Black folks. And they’ll dig up every bad statistic for housing, gun violence, healthcare, schools, homeownership, student loans, and any negative news involving a Black athlete or celebrity they way they did with Brittney Griner or Will Smith, or the current WorldStar video making social media rounds.
They will use any awful republican act, law, speech, or action and blame democrats for allowing republicans to be so racist and vile.
They will downplay or ignore any accomplishment by democrats by saying it is not enough, is too little or too late, or accuse democrats of pandering.
Tumblr media
There are far too many Black people left out of an improving America. Our histories are being erased in Florida, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, and <insert every republican-led state>, we are being targeted by white supremacists and their cousins the police. Our votes are still being suppressed and gerrymandered, and our kids school’s still receive less funding, more policing, and more underpaid teachers.
Tumblr media
What they won’t tell you is that each of the aforementioned issues are priorities democratic party and Biden/Harris administration and actions have been taken and more will be taken if they are elected to another term.
The Biden-Harris Administration Advances Equity and Opportunity for Black Americans and Communities…
From the first day in office and every day since, the Biden-Harris Administration has led the charge to ensure that all…
www.whitehouse.gov
Unlike republicans who only work on three issues — guns, abortions, tax breaks for the wealthy — the democratic party is a multifaceted party that works to improve the lives off all Americans and as a result the party has many issues and priorities.
When the entire nation depends on one party for progress, the work is never ending, daunting, and necessarily prioritized and organized. And democrats can only do what they can when they have enough votes in the house and senate, and if they have a president who will sign their legislation into law. And if they have enough judges who will not strike down the new laws, and if they have a majority on the supreme court who will allow the law to stand.
LIFT EVERY VOICE: THE BIDEN PLAN FOR BLACK AMERICA - Joe Biden for President: Official Campaign…
Joe Biden knows that African Americans can never have a fair shot at the American Dream so long as entrenched…
joebiden.com
And guess how all those variables are achieved?
By Voting.
That’s it. It’s not sexy or exciting, but it remains the only effective legal way to effect positive change in this country.
And it takes work, not rabble-rousing online for clicks and views. But therein lies the issue. It is easy to criticise and do nothing.
So when the talking heads and clickbait writers spout the same anti-Black talking points as republicans, fox news, and russian media, then they should also be scorned and ignored, ridiculed and pushed back, and called out and shouted down because they are actively harming real life Black babies, children, women, and men.
They side with the party and foreign operatives who want us forever subservient, unemployed, unable to get healthcare or fair loans, and who believe it is fine for us to be shot down by police and gun-toting freaks and fascists.
They are not our little friends no matter how much their clickbait headlines make you laugh, or how much Lenard on the Breakfast Club says something so obviously false and offensive while chuckling before later wimping out and saying he was just joking. Or Nina Turner spending her time trolling on Twitter because she has nothing better to do than criticize people elected where she couldn’t get elected because her policy choices and opinions aren’t wanted where she lives.
Or queen troll Candace Owens spewing vile hatred while trolling any topic that gives her a reason to share her hatred for all things Black American, all things democratic party, and all things decent because she knows she can continue to be the “pick me” Black women for racists.
Our lives, our ability to live in peace, to work and be paid fairly, to receive good healthcare, to be taught our history in school, and to have access to Black author’s books, are priorities of only one political party.
The naysayers and trolls at The Shade Room, The Breakfast Club, and loudmouths like Candace Owens and Stephen A. Smith will always have a platform on contrarianism of nothingness.
It is up to voters to ignore their messages of defeat and soft-pedaling ineffective GOP policies while downplaying real democratic accomplishments.

I have listened to this video a few times. It's the credits theme to Akira (1988). I just now scrolled to the comments and read the fucking description. This is the best, most aggressive thing I've ever read.
(Long, angry description below the cut.)
I bought the DVD back in 2018 and got the idea to edit some of the OST in the film a short Music Video.
Copied the file and edited it on my FREE Da Vinci Resolve 16 Editing Software.
I really don't fucking care if I got demonetized, really, I'm not even here to make money,
This is my second channel anyway so go ahead claim my fucking video, Make money off of this or whatever the fuck you usually do to even ORIGINAL content creators, Just don't fucking remove this video from your half-asses copyright detector bullshit.
Like it's a 1988 Film it's just ridiculous,
Even the Romeo and Juliet copycats play that was initially made in the 1500s could get their own copyright.
How the fuck can't I get a Fair-Use excuse?
Anyway, personally, I don't believe this shit really gets brought up in the US Courts I mean come on, I'm halfway across the fucking continent.
What the fuck are you going to do if it were somehow proven to violate the copyright law? Delete my channel? I could get another one. Send US Marines across the ocean just to imprison a fucking boy who just uploaded a fucking video on youtube?
Get a grip on yourselves you fucking clowns.
I REALLY, don't need to provide my "Rationale" excuses for your bitch-ass conglomerate sissies, In fact, it should be you whom I should question your rationality.
Are you really going to remove this fucking video? Less than 5 minutes Music Video with no bloody fucking view made by yet another insignificant person in your whole fucking Scamming Empire? Think about it will you?
and uhh, while you're at it I must go to take care of some BUSINESS,
Because unlike YOU what so-called HUMAN who claimed to have a full-time JOB,
My profession actually provides a REAL impact on the society of which you live in,
Of which people that served you on the McDonald Drive Thru,
Of which people that sent your package you bought online,
And of which of those people that working their asses off during this Global-Fucking-Pandemic.
So here's my conclusion in case you have a short attention span, (Assuming you have one to begin with.[which is very fucking unlikely.])
FUCK YOU, Yeah? FUCK YOU. And your fucking Copyright System, Policies, your MONEY-MAKER PUPPETS those called themselves "CREATORS" With their Perfectly-Crafted-Informative-Totally-Not-A-Clickbait Videos that YOU COUSIN-FUCKERS put your AD on. (So you can make money off of that Hell-Hot Fucking GARBAGE, ain't you sneaky BASTARDS.) FUCK YOU. Your whole, FUCKING, Empire. Fuck. you.

Any chance you'd be willing to share what academics/scholars/trusted sources that have helped you come to your political positioning? I genuinely can not understand how anyone believes in an "enlightened centrism." Based on the U.S.'s right-lean in comparison to other developed countries, the democrats/liberals are already centrists, making centrists/moderates just right-wing. If you truly care about policies like universal healthcare, it makes no sense to align with "centrism" or anything even further right. I would also love for you to provide an example of a "leftist" extremist (I put leftist in quotes because most examples people provide are from the "authoritarian-left" square of the political compass, and seeing as authoritarianism is antithetical to left values, the term leftist is typically reserved for the "libertarian-left" quadrant of the political compass—granted the compass is not the best representations, it is simply one of the more well-known ones).
Wanting to abolish the government, antifa and their violence in general, acab, the whole shit 'be gay do crime' garbage, you know, the people who think that being 'queer' means that you can't comform with normality and society and that saying being gay is not a personality trait is apparently homophobic.
I got fed up with leftist and right winger bullshit and I tried finding people who were also like me.
So I watched youtubers Dr Shaym(he puts lots of research in his videos), Short Fat Otaku, and Shoeonhead.
I tend to observe human behaviour, online and in real life.
I also just believe in what seems to be the most logical.
I don't believe in multiple genders, not because I'm some transphobe or sexist but because there's only two genders because biology proves it. The rare, intersex mutations that are still either male or female but with mutations don't exactly count.
I do not believe in 2 genders because some Christian conservatives told me. In fact, I get sceptical when it's a Christian conservative talking to me about biology.
Right wingers say the same shit about how the republican party is left centre and the democratic party is far left. The far right hates my opinions, Trump and the American republican party.
There's right wingers who are pro-free health care even if there isn't alot. The right isn't some monolithic.

Y'all I'm not even exaggerating when I say I'm STILL blocking 2-3 ads per-video, I've had to block at least 20 MORE ads. Like I've already made it VERY clear to these people I'm not their target audience. It's literally just pissing me off that I can't watch a video to calm down and relax while I eat without getting hit with antisemitic TERF garbage. At least with that dumb PragerU ad about trans girls in changing rooms all I had to do was block it once.
Google, is there REALLY no way to just block an entire company from showing me their stupid ads? Or a way for you have a policy on Youtube videos the same as your "Gaining an unfair advantage" policy that apparently only works on google searches? Like seriously this is actually so fucking stupid and ridiculous and I would have been happy to just say "Haha, this is so funny! So many ads JK is wasting money lol!" But no- now I'm pissed. I can't just simply relax without having this stupid ass excuse for a game being shoved in my fucking face and I'm legit over this at this point. I'm furious! I shouldn't have to block over 30 ads to get away from this shit! Like imagine if I had a trigger because of this shit and you're seriously not *letting* me get away from it and purposely making a hostile environment for trans people. Luckily I'm not someone who gets triggered: Unluckily I am someone who gets pissed off WAY too fucking easily. Please: I'm begging you guys to share this and help me get Googles attention because this shit is actually so fucking stupid. Google won't respond if I just reach out to their team or anything they only ever respond when shit gets viral. Reblog, like, share it to twitter and tag them idk this shit needs to get heard. Also funny tag screenshot while tagging this post lol:
Tumblr media
Hogwarts Legacy and Harry Potter are already showing up in the tags if you type terf lmfao
JKR is hurting for some cash SO MUCH that she's making me block like 8 ads for her putrid game. Why have I had to block all of these? Why can't I block the person that's sending these ads out?

I started rambling about my experience with kh and then it turned into khux and then it just turned into me rambling about Ryou and my art journey????? enjoy I guess,
it’s very long but there’s art in there :)
It’s funny to think about my kh journey as a whole tbh, I grew up watching my mom play video games, which included kh1 and 2. I wasn’t allowed to play the playstation2 we owned BUT I did have a gameboy so the first game I played was CoM (after my mom finished it ofc,) so I guess you could say I’ve always been passionate about kh “””side games””” lmao but I did fall off of kh very quickly bc again, I wasn’t allowed to play our PS2 and also I Am A Terrible Gamer I’ve Never Finished CoM I’m sorry you all had to find out like this, but then 358/2 came out when I was in middle school and!!! I didn’t care and I didn’t play idk why lol
Anyway, fast forward to high school I’m like 15 and my older sister, who HAS been keeping up with kh, has a wallpaper on her phone of roxas and ventus. And bc I haven’t kept up I say “nice roxas wallpaper” and she says “thanks but it’s roxas and ventus” and I proceeded to get so mad that I was determined to prove to her that her wallpaper was just roxas twice and then I fell down the BBS rabbit hole and suddenly I was reading about vanitas and then I’m reading the fan translations of the BBS novel and I’m crying??? I am sobbing???? and that’s how I actually got into kh for real lol we are vanitas stans before we are people,
It’s so funny how I thought I was some kh super fan, knowing all this stuff that I spent so long reading and rewatching cutscene movies, but I never once, SOMEHOW NEVER ever came across khx. It’s so absurd and bizarre I seriously have no idea how I never once encountered khx prior to khux. I suppose that has to do with the fact I wasn’t involved in the fandom? In early high school I had stepped away from fandoms as a whole and I didn’t have any interest in really posting content or interacting with fans anymore bc of how burnt out I was from a previous fandom,
but khux released! and I was so hype and excited for it! on launch day I was a senior in high school, I had ran around to every “nerd” and weeb I could find in school to ask them to join my party and fun fact about me is I have crippling social anxiety I literally refuse to start conversations irl so holy shit I was OUT HERE doing the MOST
My player just originally had my name (Matt) but everyone in my party had fun names so Ryou was born! High school was one big yugioh phase for me and ryou bakura is one of my favorite characters ever so it was just the logical name choice lol I quickly started creating Ryou, the character, as well. I was also leaving my homestuck phase and that + vanitas obsession made This character design (art circa 2016)
Tumblr media
If y’all are familiar with my kh oc’s you might notice that keyblade now belongs to my kid Monty LOL
Anyway that got scrapped quickly for the chip and dale outfit (which is where Ryou’s trademark goggles are from <3) Goggles have been a staple of my character designs for a LONG TIME so like, it had to be done, (that’s a separate ramble about a separate oc tho)
OG Ryou was an interesting guy; he was a young party leader with this overwhelming responsibility on his shoulders bc of his status as a party leader. In his original story, he also struggled heavily with darkness, much like Terra but for Ryou it was more that the darkness was controlling him and not like a source of power like it was for Terra
Tumblr media
A big part of early Ryou I kept, however, was the crushing awareness of loss. One of my party members (the strongest one at the time,) had left without saying a word and I was very confused and hurt. This was around the time the ephemera plot was happening so I decided to incorporate it into Ryou’s story; having him experience losing a friend to darkness since it’s so normal for wielders in Daybreak Town to just disappear, and this would unintentionally become a theme for both me and Ryou as khux friends would just randomly disappear.
I was desperate for khux at this point and I decided to watch the fan translations for khx and GOD, god, was I obsessed. I couldn’t stop thinking about the foretellers. And I’m not going off about that here bc I already did that, but I actually started entering fandom again! I did it slowly, I started on tumblr before this blog was made altho it was me sending anons to the few khux related blogs I could have lol a friend convinced me to get twitter where I got involved with the ffxv fandom, which led me to the kh fandom and eventually the khux fandom there which is what REALLY got me going on khux.
I joined discord servers, most of the servers I’m in are khux related, and from there I joined the khux oc rp (shout out to anyone there who might be reading this lol here’s some art from the beginning of the rp,)
Tumblr media
It’s SO FUNNY how the RP influenced me so heavily. I hadn’t RP’d in YEARS, I used to have a strict no oc rp policy, but here I was? And the funny part is, I had barely developed Ryou. I had scrapped his original story and all I had was POST WAR Ryou so I literally had to reverse write him; I had only ever written him as a depressed, guilt ridden adult, but it was a fucking blast and I have such fond memories of this rp when it was active,
But anyway, this encouraged me to get more serious about art! I started drawing, writing, cosplaying, and roleplaying when I hadn’t done any of that stuff in a very long time. The first time I ever drew a background was for a deviant art khux competition actually LOL
Tumblr media
also! I always think extremely fondly of the drawing I did of Aced in the keyblade war. It was also one of the first backgrounds I ever drew and it felt like my real starting point in the khux fandom. It got a ton of notes on here and someone wrote a tiny fic in a reblog which just made me SO HAPPY like it really felt like people were noticing me :) I was going to draw a matching Ira but!! I just never did!! One day tho, it’s on my art bucket list to redraw this along with Ira,
Tumblr media
Aside from my personal growth, khux was great for my social life ngl, I made SO MANY friends online and got to meet a ton of people irl over the years! It’s crazy to think about all the people I now know and talk to? It honestly makes me really emotional. I’ll never forget taking the train into NYC and meeting up with discord friends. Going to conventions and talking with people about the latest khux update? Absolutely insane and those were some GOOD TIMES, if I thanked every khux friend or even just person who made an impact on me then we’d be here for a LONG TIME,
Tumblr media
Fun fact, for my Lauriam cosplay all I needed to buy was the wig I just owned his outfit LOL also? Probably retiring that cosplay ngl people treated me like absolute garbage when I wore him and it led to a lot of confidence issues for awhile ngl. That’s probably one of the only memorable negative experiences I have with khux; it was great when khux people recognized me but for kh fans that weren’t in khux? They were FUCKING MEAN??? fuck kh fandom at large, I only care about khux fandom,
This leads me to another huge part of my experience in khux fandom: THEORIES!! I used to write SO MANY and oh my god my brain was so full all the time. It was a huge appeal for me in the fandom; I had been previously writing theory posts in the RWBY fandom and it just migrated over to khux for me lol I had done a ton of theorizing around Lauriam tbh, it was really the only reason I liked his character at all bc initially I did not care about the dandelions, anyone who wasn’t Skuld I was like “please leave Now thanks”
A funny part of khux fandom I never intended to be apart of is the MEMES, I really only started doing memes as stress relief bc college had me so busy all I had time/energy for was these quick little shit post drawings.
Tumblr media
The first meme I made, file name “invi despair” LOL we need to get her a girlfriend smh anyway, I think in my senior year of college I did a bunch of rapid fire memes all in one month bc the stress of finals was getting so bad afdgfhdgf as far as I know my impact on this fandom will be my memes bc all I do now is enter a kh/khux server and introduce myself and I go “yeah I draw art. here’s a meme” and everyone goes OH YOU, honestly I am nothing if not a clown
Tumblr media
I’ve talked so much idk where I’m going with this. Khux is just a good game even if the gameplay actually kind of really sucks yknow lol but it was the first game I played where I like, REALLY got into the meta and the mechanics. I used to read so much on the mechanics and watch youtube videos on which medals were worth pulling for. I was never a whale or a top player exactly, but I could rank well if I tried lol I’ve made it to the top 100 for solo rankings, my party has made it to top 10, and in pvp I’ve made top 300. I’m not the highest level in my party but FUCK do I know how to manipulate this game LOL
And with all that hard work, the strategies, the theorizing, the content I’ve made-- it’s been my life for 5 years. I’ve logged into khux almost every single day. At the end, I have logged 1820 days in khux out of 1910 days. Kinda crazy. Crazier I’ve never spent money on khux either lol the only “money” gone into it was one time my mom gave me a google play store gift card and I used it on my birthday for a VIP xemnas medal which eventually made it to regular pulls anyway but it was nice and a little treat :)
Tumblr media
I’m not a gacha fan, I don’t care for it, so I don’t think I’ll be touching another gacha again. But for kh? This was pretty fucking awesome, even if it sucked a lot sometimes LOL It was worth it for the people I’ve met most of all I think. I would honestly be a completely different person without khux and that’s REALLY insane to think about.

Can we get the name to report them?
Unfortunately, they can only be reported/flagged for copyright by the person directly from whom the work had been stolen. Found this out when I tried to go report them, myself...
My partner has reported it, so now it's a matter of waiting several weeks for Youtube's response. This, unfortunately, has also not been the first time it's happened...
On top of all that, the less people engage with this user/video, the better. Last thing I wanna give it is views and an audience of any kind. Wanna keep it from even hitting the search page as much as possible till it's resolved.
Thank you for the well-meaning gesture, though. It is very much appreciated.

I mean to ask this genuinely, no hostility, but can you explain how you correlate scp to being in a cult? I dont disagree, I just cant articulate the reasoning as to why I dont disagree, and would like to see where youre coming from with this. Also, could you tag it with cults or cult discussion or something similar, please? Thanks! Have a good day.
OK [cracks knuckles] I will try and keep this as short as possible, but you have to understand I’ve been observing the wiki in the wild literally since its inception, so there is a lot of stuff to consider. anyway let’s buckle up.
[EDIT: after finishing, this is obnoxiously long. sorry. I encourage people to read it though, because yikes.]
I base this theory on a set of guidelines set out for spotting if an organisation might be a cult. generally cults are religiously based; obviously this does not apply here. as far as I’m aware, nobody sees the SCP wiki as a religion (yet). because of this a couple of the points regarding spotting a cult are irrelevant (they concern things like separation from the Church which obviously doesn’t apply) but nearly all of the others (even some religious ones) can apply if we provide context. so without further ado:
Signs You’re In A Cult and How the SCP Wiki Literally Fits Into All of Them
let’s start with the most obvious:
opposing critical thinking
something that has long pissed me off about the SCP wiki has been its complete inability to think critically. staff will literally ban people for criticising them, and the parameters of “criticism” have only grown wider and wider over the years. anything that is the “party line” is sacred; nothing can be improved upon because it’s already perfect, and Staff Knows Best. any policy changes are law, and any dissenting voices are silenced – even among younger staff members (length of service wise, not age wise). I have seen staff put on probation or demoted for arguing against pointless or pedantic policy changes; I have seen people of all levels banned for arguing with staff. if this doesn’t happen right away, arguing with staff over their decisions will absolutely get a target on your back, and they will find a way to ban or demote you as soon as they can.
any criticism on the wiki is frowned upon unless it comes from the Major Staff Members – these are people at the top of the hierarchy who can do no wrong, and as you can imagine, they’ve done some shit. staff has always had a problem with elitism, bullying, and even abusive behaviour (blah blah blah #NotAllStaff, but the ratio is quite concerning) and any criticism of their behaviour or even pointing this fact out is dangerous if you want to remain on the wiki. hell, I know many people who are aware of this who don’t speak up because they’re genuinely scared of retaliation. a lot of staff are really nasty people, and because of this attitude they are beyond criticism.
isolating members and penalising them for leaving
the penalising them for leaving part isn’t strictly accurate, because as far as I know, nobody has ever been bullied or threatened into staying on the wiki. however, I do remember a while back (2011/2012-ish) when the Foundation RP community began to show up on Tumblr, and the wiki began to get a fanbase that wasn’t contained on the site itself. staff were not happy about this and to this day they still constantly try and get a monopoly on all off-site locations. they have an official Offsite Outreach Team (yes, that’s its real name) who “reach out” to communities on other platforms (YouTube, Reddit, Tumblr, etc) and set up an Official Presence there, and then they encourage everyone to use the Official Presence rather than the fan-made ones (which are often more established and better/more consistently run). there have been several off-site spats between staff and the fandom, because they arrive demanding the authority and respect they have on the wiki and get Big Mad when they don’t get it. just recently one (now ex) staff member, djkaktus, went absolutely primal on Reddit and banned a whole bunch of the community for daring to say that they didn’t like the new LGBT logo for pride month (many of these people were LGBT themselves and felt as though it was pandering/putting targets on their backs); several more years ago (2014, I believe?) I myself had a run in with the Outreach Team and it was one fucking hell of a headache that ended in a malicious smear campaign against me, so like. yeah.
as for isolating members, they do this via elitism. the above is an example of it (making everyone feel a sense of obligation or loyalty to the Official Presence), but a huge part of it has always been the elitist attitude prevalent on the wiki. the SCP wiki has high standards for writing (allegedly… I’ve seen some garbage on there tbh, same as any other website) and it uses this to bully and demean its users. criticism of writing is overly harsh but highly encouraged; anyone complaining that it was too cruel (which it often is) is ridiculed for being too sensitive. (staff have been working on this for years, but really nothing has changed; people have just gotten more between-the-lines about it.) this encourages a kind of desperation among new users to “rise up the ranks” and earn respect so they can be the ones dishing out the criticism instead; they will do so and then immediately act in accordance to their status, bullying others how they were bullied and sticking to their own “rank”. brief interruption: staff and bootlickers if you’re reading this and thinking of reblogging to defend yourself, the code word is yeet. if I do not see the word yeet in your reply I will know you have not read this thoroughly and tell me why I should then bother reading anything you have to say.staff themselves is incredibly removed and closed off from the rest of the community; they have a bunch of private chat rooms they hang out in, and inter-dating is common. they don’t tend to interact much outside the flock, and are the definition of cliquey. joining this rank is supposed to be an achievement, but really it’s probably the most dangerous place to be. I have seen so many staff members have literal, clinical mental breakdowns over the strain and treatment they suffer.
(there’s nowhere to neatly slot this in, so: I don’t know how many people have noticed this, but SCP fans, when you spot them on other platforms, are snooty. not casual fans, but those involved with the wiki? I can spot them from a mile away, because whenever the Foundation is mentioned, there they are, acting like they’re part of some cool club. some of these people are innocent (they’re just mimicking the behaviour of other members) but some of them really do seem to think that their site is somehow better than whatever site they’re on, and it’s really creepy to see.)
emphasising special doctrines outside of scripture
obviously this is religion-specific, but with context it can fit. if we take scripture to mean SCP lore, and special doctrines to mean differing headcanons, ideas, writing styles, etc… oh boy.
there’s something that’s often said on the wiki: there is no canon. buddy, there is. yes, you can write whatever you want technically, and you can disregard headcanons you don’t like and you can build on different things and theoretically people can just ignore your shit if they don’t like it, but that is not what happens. there is absolutely a canon, and deviating from it will get you downvoted into oblivion and even personally attacked. people will accuse you of the most ridiculous shit, like desecrating the wiki or betraying the universe or whatever. so where does the emphasising part of this come in?
why, it’s simple! if one of these special doctrines (headcanons or whatever) comes from staff or an Approved Member, it’s fine. go nuts. even if it’s something that anybody else would be absolutely slaughtered for, it’s fine if staff approves. there is no creative freedom on that wiki, and anyone attempting to carve a piece out for themselves will suffer for it. one of my close friends still gets hate for an SCP he wrote featuring heavy headcanons and building on existing lore about a well-known character, and some of this hate is because he didn’t set the fucking article out “how it should be”.
seeking inappropriate loyalty to their leaders
oh boy. staff are god on that website. they’ll deny it, but they know it’s true. many of them are arrogant and, in my opinion, some of them are pathologically narcissistic. they think they are hot shit, and they encourage people on the site to believe the same. a huge majority of users on the wiki are high school students, so 15-18 years old. the next huge group are college-aged, so 19-22 or so. several staff members are in their mid-20s up to 30s, maybe even coming 40s or early 40s now. when you’re in your mid-20s, it’s very easy to look cool to a 15-year-old. it’s very easy to look at a young userbase and convince them that you’re hot shit, and that’s what staff do. they act like it; most users respond to it, and if anyone dissents? see point one.
staff have always had double standards. from the very beginning of staff, they have gotten away with a lot more than the average user. staff have been allowed to bully, ridicule, harass, dismiss, shit upon, and target people with reckless abandon, usually only meeting punishment when other staff members feel too inconvenienced by them. a lot of the time when they’re punished, it’s a lot lighter than it would have been for an average user (a month ban rather than a permaban, for example). this is seen as almost a point of hilarity for a lot of people, who think it’s cool and just a right you get when you’re staff. you know best, you’ve seen some shit – who can blame you for slamdunking a 15-year-old’s first SCP?
the amount of respect and adoration these people demand is ridiculous, and anybody daring to criticise them ends up on a shitlist. staff show up in other areas (Tumblr or Reddit) and expect that same amount of respect, even among people outside of the wiki who might just be casual fans. they act a lot more important than they are, and demand that everyone treats them appropriately. I’ve seen staff members throw shitfits because they didn’t get enough upvotes for their articles, and many staff members’ quality of work declines when they make staff, simply because they know that they’ll get easy upvotes as soon as people realise it’s a staff member who wrote it. downvotes are enough to get you put on a shitlist.
publicly, their word is law. you are not allowed to debate with them in the forums if they put a “stop” on the topic; the same applies in the IRC chat. if staff says “stop”, you will be punished if you mention it again. you are allowed to discuss it with them privately, but I think that’s rather insidious, as staff have been known to twist facts and withhold information before. this gives them a public persona of always being right – and something else that cults do is silence dissenting voices so nobody who might agree can see other people saying the same things and feel encouraged/emboldened.
crossing Biblical boundaries of behaviour
again, we’ll need to contextualise this. if Biblical boundaries are things like sins and all the stuff the Bible says Do Not Do, then in this context these are the wiki rules. staff (and their friends) will constantly cross the rules, as previously mentioned, and they will get away with it.
the wiki rules say “don’t be a dick”. I have caught staff bullying people countless times, and no doubt there’s more I haven’t caught. even out in the open, staff are argumentative, dismissive, rude, intimidating, and oftentimes plain nasty. the wiki rules say “don’t coldpost articles; get feedback”. staff is just out there throwing their shit onto the wiki and expecting an avalanche of upvotes in five minutes Or Else. policies are made that set parameters and staff changes them whenever convenient – for example, the long-standing rule that things that occur off-site are not the responsibility of the Disciplinary Committee (yes, its name.). unless, of course, it’s someone they don’t like. a major staff member bullies somebody on Tumblr? “sorry, it was offsite, not our problem”. someone staff doesn’t like gets into a brief spat on Reddit? banned for harassment.
there are countless examples of this, from small things to major things like bullying, harassment, and even abuse (or enabling of abuse). staff will punish people for transgressions and then turn a blind eye to a fellow staff member committing a transgression that was ten times worse. they have even protected rapists and sexual predators in the past – another kind of behaviour common in cults, because that’s what happens when you combine narcissism and entitlement with total authority.
that’s the main bulk of it
but now the context has been established, here are a few more concerning things I’ve noticed (quickfire now):
cults shit on former members
and the wiki does the same. any staff member that’s grown fed up of the groupthink and the cliquey attitude and how nasty people are or who has been mistreated by staff themselves; any regular user who feels the same and vocally quits? shat upon. lauded as a bastion of whatever is wrong with the wiki. declared an Enemy and rallied against. it is so creepy.
cults use Us vs Them mentality, especially in language
broad declarations establishing a community and a community spirit in the face of adversity are common in cults. appeals to emotion and loyalty are used in a very manipulative way. catastrophising and fearmongering is common, too. I’m seeing this in how the recent drama with the legal issues is being handled. broad appeals to “defend the wiki”, hashtags being encouraged, emotional speeches from staff about how it’s a make or break situation…
Tumblr media
…and this is being reflected in the absolutely insane comments people are responding with.
Tumblr media
this is a fucking writing website. the above is not a normal reaction at all.
the attitudes of regular users quickly grow concerning
people very quickly get obsessed with the wiki and it defines their lives. they seem to feel as though they owe something to it or they need to serve some kind of a purpose; many people try and “get the word out” and become voluntary spokespeople. they go around practically preaching, and I do not see the users of any other website doing this.
cults want full control over how they’re seen by outsiders
and the scp wiki does the same. as mentioned previously, when the fandom grew and spiralled off the wiki to other sites, staff debated for weeks over what to do. brief interruption the second code is shrek is life.they were not comfortable with the idea of the wiki having an independent fandom, and for years now they have been in constant struggle with offsite communities, trying to gain the same amount of control they have over the wiki. it’s impossible to do so thoroughly, and it’s clearly an annoyance for them.
cult leaders will let “lesser” members do their dirty work for them
and guess what staff does? rather than wade in there and get their hands dirty with internet arguments, they’ll sit back and let regular users dogpile on dissenters and say all the things staff shouldn’t be seen to say in public. note how even if this would violate the bullying policies, they’ll just get a warning so long as staff agrees.
in conclusion
@ everyone on the scp wiki: yall know you’re in a cult, right?

I hate that I fall for the blame Americans trap as if I know how most Americans feel about shit. Even if most Americans felt a specific way would we even get that fucking perspective articulated by the media? I was watching Telemundo and they were covering news about Cuba and these corporate Spanish channels ALWAYS go find people in Cuba who are saying whatever it is they want to be said about the island and I'm like... Binch, they do the same here with U.S. politics here. You don't see people on the news talking about how they're struggling. Anyone notice how often they seem to find 'small business owners' to get their perspective on the pandemic rather than bitches struggling and shit. Nobody on TV is livid and if they are they're not blaming anyone in power and its so frustrating to see that. You can't even be mad about how shit is going and if you are nobody wants to see it or hear you.
Another thing, YouTube auto play keeps sending me to MSNBC videos after any shit I manually look for to watch. Specifically a show called Morning Joe with this Republican clown and this nodding white cow that sits next to him and gesticulates and like all they fucking do is react to the shit Trump says, speculate about his mental health and act outraged. That's it, that's the whole show. There's no real policy discussion. There's no pushing for shit, its all that. These people will be utterly unaffected should Trump be reelected. In fact it might hurt their ratings if they no longer have the apectacle of this cash cow that is the Trump administration to perform outrage over. The woman especially is disgusting to watch how she performs emotionally about how Trump is desecrating the oval office or whatever. It's all for this very specific type of viewer who is outraged that anyone would dare be as explicitly stupid and callous as Trump is because they never want the President of the U.S. to take his mask off. They want to feel good and pretend they're good people and have an act that upholds that. They need it.
Rachel Maddow is actually an even worse clown now than she was during the peak of Russiagate. She's embarrassing.
Liberals are useless, just human garbage, the cockroaches that have to feed on feces in dry latrines.

I don't talk about this garbage human because it honestly a waste of my time. But with YouTube new policy. Everything Chris Hansen has worked for all the victims coming forward have worked for could all go to shit. Because Onion man see it as being bullied instead of everyone being enlightened about the recent fuck face.
Youtube trying to have a moral upstanding- no bully policy then doesn't clarify it. Cause they don't look at their own fucking platform is garbage. And i fear for all the channels that brought forth evidence for a shit face.

Just the lies...please
If you watched the non debates last night, you know we had to scramble between two networks to see what each had to say. This happened because #45 refused to get covid tested again and he refused to do it through a zoom meeting. (Maybe he was afraid of his mike being cut off)
Which was kind of like the first debate where we didn't hear what each of them were trying to say.
Anyway the highlight was all the lies #45 said last night and because of our favorite site, that wonderful fact check site, here is the highlight of such said lies.
1.Done more for the African American community
Trump said he has “done more for the African American community than any president with the exception of Abraham Lincoln,” noting that “a lot of people agree.”
Facts First: This is false.
President Lyndon B. Johnson, for example, signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act, monumental bills whose impact dwarfed the impact of any legislation Trump has signed.
It’s also worth mentioning that Black people themselves do not, on the whole, agree with Trump's self-assessment. Trump has had a consistently abysmal approval rating with Black citizens — just 4% in one recent Quinnipiac University poll, for example, versus 93% disapproval.
2.About ballots and voting fraud.
"Thousands of them are dumped in dumpsters and when you see ballots with the name Trump — military ballots, from our great military, and they’re dumped in garbage cans,” Trump said in the NBC town hall.
He went on to claim that the “thousands of ballots” were found with “my name on it.”
Facts First: This is false.
There have been two incidents where ballots were found in a dumpster or trash can: 99 ballots heading to voters in New Jersey and nine ballots “incorrectly discarded” by a temporary worker in Pennsylvania.
3.About Osama bin Laden
Trump had retweeted earlier this week claiming Osama bin Laden was still alive and that the man killed in the raid was a body double.
Trump defended his actions, saying, "That was a retweet. That was an opinion of somebody, and that was a retweet. I'll put it out there. People can decide for themselves. I don't take a position."
Facts First: This is a baseless claim
It has no evidence to back it up. The facts around the killing of bin Laden are not a debatable opinion.
4. About the virus and wearing masks
"Just the other day, they came out with a statement that 85% of the people that wear masks catch it,” Trump said.
It was a repeat of a similar claim he had made two times earlier in the day, citing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the source for that number.
Facts First: Trump’s claim is false.
A CDC study released in September, did not say that 85% of people who wear masks get infected with coronavirus. In fact, it did not even attempt to figure out what percentage of people who wear a mask get infected with the coronavirus.
In fact he never answered the questions about him getting the virus or if he is actually cleared of it.  He never answered the questions of his taxes and why he won't let the American people see them.
He never answered the question about what his health care reform was even though he had 4 years to come up with "A great one, better than Obamacare"
He never addressed the American people and the loss of so many lives, or how so many people are still struggling.
He avoided the questions of police reform and Roe vs Wade or why he was so fast to replace the Supreme Court Justice.
He had no sympathy for what average Americans have been going through or any answers other than praising himself and "What a great job he was doing" Which is what he always does anyway.
This man does not care about us, he wants to divide and conquer. He stirs the shit pot with hate and division not wanting to make America Great again but trying to make America white again. Back to the good ole boys club, where gays were in the closets, women had no rights and where we all weren't considered equal.
This is what this snake charmer has offered to us the last four years and now wants another four years to drive the nail in the coffin for good.
This shows us what he stands for…. lying, cheating, dodging questions and filling the pockets of him and his friends who will profit off his policies. We need change and as much as we may not like the competition, we need this man out of the white house. Haven't we've been embarrassed enough? We need change and we need it now.
We only have 18 days, we must get out there, we must get everyone we know to vote now!
Vote like your life depends on it because it does!

Yeah. My policy is that I check if revenue is okay almost right off the bat. I offer 50% of the first 2 months (when 99% of my revenue is made) and I even offer it after that initial window for any viral explosions, and all the terms are up to the artist on that front, but I also always preface that by saying I make jack-shit on most of my videos. Maybe 5 dollars a video if I'm lucky with the Algorithm and it's a good ad season. Only reason I want to monetize is in hopes I get enough money to afford to keep replacing the very expensive equipment I use when it starts to break down. I don't at all blame dubbers who physically can't offer that sort of revenue sharing, though. This is the sort of thing that if done half decently, costs tons of money to do, and the likelihood that you'll ever get enough views to remake what you've put in or even turn a profit is next to nothing. Dubbing is an over-saturated medium, just like art itself, so expecting everyone to be successful enough doing it to make much money is a pipe dream (albeit an admirable one). I spend a minimum of 12 hours per minute of video on anything I put out. When I was working for Vade, on my most complex piece (Their Wings), it took me 2 and a half solid months of work to get it finished and I was still down to the wire. I totally understand being angry with dubbers who think credit and clout for artists is a bargaining tool and not the right they earn by default when their work is being used. I always state that I credit in multiple ways, because I know not everyone does, so I need to clarify I'm not one of those idiots. I understand being angry at dubbers who steal art, don't ask permission, don't respect artists' wishes, and make tons of money from millions of views on garbage tier dubs. Trust me, I and many of the other dubbers with actual integrity absolutely despise them as well, since unfortunately in an ecosystem dictated by the Algorithm, people who put in minimum effort with high upload volume and have the least integrity tend to do the best. But crucifying all dubbers on the alter of artists' rights will, in the end, destroy all sympathy that might be held for the art communities on Twitter and Tumblr by the wider internet ecosystem. Dubbers are not your enemies, we are with you, and we want you to succeed. We want to normalize artists getting paid with money for their work rather than clout like these big headed YouTubers and Streamers have been getting away with. But don't downplay what we do. VAs accept it as a fact of life that for quite a long time, unless they get lucky, they're not getting paid for their work. In my 4 years of Voice Acting, I've only been paid twice for my Voice work, not because I don't value my work, but because we understand the intrinsic value of connections, networking, and favors, and as stupid as exposure as payment is, a bigger audience is a path to more work and more notoriety. Trust me, we understand your pain. Please don't tear down everything because you have a problem with a few aspects of the system. Speak your mind, fight for your rights, but don't step on people who are struggling to get by, just like you, or generalize a group of people based on a few bad apples. I had originally intended to keep my mouth shut, but seeing people who haven't done anything wrong get fucked over for something someone else did is frustrating to say the least, especially when I've hated the true objects of complaint in the dubbing community, long before artists and the hate mob got up in arms about it. I don't have any way to really end this, so I'll leave you all with this. Be reasonable, be kind, there's no need to be out for blood. The people you're lampooning are human, just like you. They make mistakes, they have feelings, and I'm sure if you simply talked and put it in perspective for them, many would understand. And remember, the minute the hate mob is done with their current meal, they're coming for you, next.
...Now people are starting this "revolution" of "if dubbers make money, so should the artists they use from". At this rate I won't be able to dub *anything ever again*... I'm devastated!
I always ask if Ad Revenue is Ok, and most say either yes or no. But this movement screws over every dubber worldwide that can't afford to pay artists for their stuff, which includes me... I don't know what to do. My entire channel is based on voice dubs. That's how I make what little revenue I can, especially during this unemployment stage. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

100 Days of Trump Day 91: The Colbert Report
Welcome Back to 100 Days of Trump, where we try to explain WTF happened in 2016 in 100 recommendations...lets talk about Fox News.  Or specifically, lets talk about the tradition of the Right Wing Pundit, with the Platonic Pundit Bill O’Rielly leaving Fox with 25 million dollars for sexually harassing his staff, I think we should reflect on why these utterly horrible people always seem to get such an audience.  Because looking at Bill, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, Megan Kelly, Sean Hannity, and of course more obscure people like Alex Jones, they all have these massive egos and so little to justify it.   They are comically uninformed about pretty much every topic that comes up to it but pretend they are experts, they are dismissive of any information that contradicts them or challenges their views, they love to simplify every issue that comes before them, they aren’t funny and of course despite beating their chest a great deal, all of them are massive cowards who fold at the first sign of difficulty and the entire lot of them are massive chickenhaws.  They are also gigantic hypocrites watch any of their shows long enough and you will massive contradictions in their logic or world view.  But this produces two questions
Why are these massive dicks popular?
What Purpose do they serve for the Republican Party?
The former can be especially hard for liberal audiences to understand, after all, a person who really does think they are the best at everything despite constantly being proven wrong is suppose to be a joke character, something we mock, so why are people taking this so seriously? I mean pretty much anything Sean Hannity says is always wrong.
Tumblr media
Well to answer that question, we need the most blovated, arrogant, and moronic of them all....Stephen Colbert.  Yet again, I think if he was still on air in 2016, the election would have gone differently.  Sadly...Comedy Central doesn’t allow any of the good clips on youtube, so please just go and watch the whole series or at least as many episodes as you can, trust me it is worth it.
The Character of Stephen Colbert, not to be confused with the Comedian Stephen Colbert, is a perfect facsimile of all of these Right wing pundits, from the ego to the macho postering, to the fucking inane relationship to language.  “I am America and So Can You” isn’t really that different from most of these guy’s terrible books which they pretend are great philosophy.
youtube
The point of a pundit is effectively to tell people what to think, and yes, I know that sounds like i’m saying Fox News Viewers are mindless sheep but no, hear me out here.  Republicans don’t trust the news or officials, or much of anyone at all, they mostly just trust the loud people to talk plain truth to them.  ANd this isn’t uniquely right wing thing, if I hear about something where I am not informed, I tend to go to people who I trust to get their take on it before I believe the mainstream media’s take on something, its that instinct.  For the record, I’ve started in the last three years to double check everything people who I trust tell me with other sources, so I suppose my relationship towards media is
Trust No One
The problem is that Fox News Viewers are too distrustful of mainstream sources, and too trusting towards their own, and they are uninformed on basically every subject, which makes them really succepitable to this type of “I speak for you”  Robert Ailes, the former head of Fox news who was fired after being given 45 million dollars for sexually assault women (notice a pattern here) use to do a thing where he would take a bank of TVs and watch them all on silent, and pick the one which he found to be the most convincing, even though he couldn’t understand what was going on.  Which is why they rely on emotion more than actual argument.
youtube
But here is the kicker, a lot of Fox News Watchers might not actually buy the Republican Party line if you gave them some time to think about it.  Take a fox new grandpa away from Right wing media for two weeks and talk to him while he is happy and calm, he might be far more willing to engage with you (and no this isn’t about my grandparents, nobody in my family watches Fox thank god).  The whole point of the Right Wing Media bubble is to keep everyone scared and angry so they won’t engage.  It is also to help deal with doubt.  Remember back when the news showed the drowned Syrian boy Alan Kurdi and for a brief moment the world started to seriously consider not treated refugees like garbage and actually abiding by basic human rights?  Well you might have seen a certain meme go around in right wing circles of
“How about we take care of homeless vets before we give a shit about refugees”  This originated on Fox, or at least was popularized by it.  And the thing about this is...that doesn't make any fucking sense.  Like if you engage with that question even a little bit, you realize how totally full of shit these people are.  Firstly, we aren’t helping the homeless in this country in large part because of Republican policies, because they view ensuring that homeless people have their basic needs met as giving a hand out to the poor (because god forbid we actually tax the rich).  Secondly...of course we can do both, we are the richest country in history, duh.  And of course, if we aren’t going to help the homeless anyways, i’d rather help at least some people than not any people at all.  Its a total bullshit argument but it isn’t designed to convince people.  It is designed to justify other people’s opposition to a very basic decency.  See a lot of Republicans oppose the refugees just out of racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and want to mask it, but at lot more actually would like to take in the refugees but hesitate because...well the liberals want that, and we wouldn’t want to agree with them would we?  So this little message is a great way for them to believe in something they kinda know is wrong, because opposing the left matters more to them than enforcing their own ideals.  I mean its the internet, we have all seen people take a position on something in order to win an argument when you know full well they don’t believe that.
“I Give people the Truth, unfiltered by Rational Argument”
Or to use another example, remember back in the golden days of 2015, people had a very negative view of the electoral college, Donald Trump himself famously called for it to be abolished.  But then...Donald Trump won the election despite losing the popular vote by almost 3 million votes and suddenly a lot of Trump supporters started to get edgy.  Because most of them know in their hearts that the Electoral Colledge is total bullshit....but they also really want to win.  So how do they reconcile that?  Well that is where you get that whole “Electoral College Protects the little states” meme on Fox News that we have seen 8 million times.  It doesn’t make any actual sense unless you are telling me that Florida is a small state now or Vermont is a big state.  But its point isn’t to make sense, its point is to help Republican viewers not have to think critically about their own previously held beliefs, and help them adapt a position they actually disagree with because it is useful to them.  They don’t want to engage in an actual argument with facts because well
“Reality has a well known Liberal Bias”
And this isn’t just a right wing thing, they just do it better.
youtube
This also helps them work out their internal contradictions, I mean the Republican party isn’t really an ideology, its a bunch of competing contradictory ideologies.  After all how can you be against the goverment getting into your personal life and then want it to outlaw abortion and gay marriage?  How can you want to balance the budget but increase military spending while reducing taxation for the wealthy?  How can you oppose Assad or ISIS while hating the very people they are killing?  That is the poitn of the pundit, to explain away these contradiction and tell their audience “shhhh, its ok, you don’t have to think
And of course, this isn’t exclusive to fox news, we see this sort of rationalization on the internet
Tumblr media
Thanks to @randomshoes for this amazing image.
It is really telling that the crazy batshit response to Feminist Frequency came not in response to any videos she produced, but in response to a kickstarter video where she said she was going to produce a series, before she actually said anything (sounds familiar?)  Because they didn’t want to engage in any arguments, they wanted an excuse to not have the discussion at all, and when the strategy of “Scream incoherent rape and death threats en mass” didn’t work, they start saying “She is a con women” “She hasn’t played games” “She is trying to censor Games” all of which can be extremely easily disproven but they aren’t actual arguments, they are excuses not to have an argument in the first place.  The Irony is that there are a lot of reasonable criticism you can have of Anita Sarkeesians, I have a list of them myself, but in order to make those, you need to engage in what she is saying rather than what Thunderf00t or Sargon of Akkad are telling you that they are saying.    I mean, Gamergate as a movement started to really fall apart after this clip here
youtube
It is worth noting when I searched this video on youtube series, I found two videos by Thunderf00t on rebutting it, one called “Stephen Colbert losses his balls, because a lot of Gaters really liked Stephen Colbert, and when faced with “Engage with the argument” and “Let the exact type of people who Colbert is mocking tell them what to think they....well you know what happened.
Also because I mentioned Anita, I am going to get so much more shit for this post than I have for the much more critical posts I made on works they haven’t actually seen.
Pundits tell people what to think but more importantly tell them what not to think about, they don’t so much say ‘mindlessly listen to what i have to say” as they go “this argument isn’t worth enaging with, and if you think about it remotely critical, you are giving the abstract imaginary enemy of “The left” a victory, but in mindlessly regurgitating my propaganda points, you can score a victory against them”.  And that is what Colbert perfectly embodies.
plus he is fucking funny.
Also I heard that some people haven’t seen this so....fucking watch this even if you watch nothing else by this man
